Fun Run Forms and Cash Donations are due tomorrow, September 24! Any student who collects at least $25 will receive a 5th Annual SES Fun Run T-Shirt! Students who collect at least $50.00 will get to Tie Dye their t-shirts at school with Mr. Delong! The t-shirt design is shown below! The Fun Run will be on Thursday, October 8! It's the healthiest, most fun fundraiser of the year! All fundraising efforts are appreciated! Every dollar helps!
Spencer Elementary Families:
Parent Teacher Conference is this Thursday evening, September 17, from 3:30-7:00pm.
-Parents/guardians MUST have a scheduled appointment to attend Parent Teacher Conference for SES students. If you are not able to attend in person, you may schedule a phone conference with your student’s teacher. If you have not yet made an appointment, please contact your child's teacher. If you have a confirmed scheduled appointment with a teacher, you should have received an email or communication from the teacher to let you know your appointment time.
-We encourage everyone attending the Parent Teacher Conference to practice social distancing.
-If you are doing an in person conference, we ask that you remain in your car until 3-4 minutes before your conference time.
-Your temperature will be taken as you enter the building.
-We will only be allowing parents in the building at their conference time.
-We ask that you leave the building quickly after your conference to reduce the number of visitors in the building.
-Please understand that conference times are being restricted to 5 MINUTES in order to minimize risk of exposure to those who may be unaware that they are positive for COVID.

SES Fall/Yearbook Picture Day will be September 2nd
Parents we are excited to welcome your students back into our building tomorrow for the first day of school. We have a few reminders regarding the beginning of this school year. Please send a note with your child tomorrow that tells your child’s teacher if they will be parent pick up or a bus rider. If they are riding a bus and you do not know the bus driver, please include the address they will be dropped off. Remember an adult must be visible for a student to be allowed off of the bus.
We will not be allowing parents and visitors in the building this year without an appointment due to the current situation with Covid-19. Parents will not be allowed to walk their students into the building in the morning in order to keep all students safe. School personnel will be available to help your child get their supplies to their classroom. Parent drop off will not begin until 7:30 a.m. this year. Student arrival is 7:30-8. We will be doing temperature checks before your students enter the building. Please remain in the drive until your child has been cleared to enter. Parent pick up is from 2:50-3:15 each afternoon. Please do not arrive early and block traffic. Nurse Beverly will be set up in front of SES tomorrow to collect medicine and forms that she needs for those students who take medications at school. Parents dropping off medicine will need to park in the parking lots near the road and walk up the sidewalk to Nurse Beverly. We will not be able to allow parents to bring outside food or drink for birthday parties or celebrations this year due to Covid-19.

SES yearbooks are available for pickup in the front office Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. A limited supply of yearbooks are available for $30 cash or checks made to SES.
SES yearbooks were given out to Kindergarteners during their graduation ceremony. All others will be available Monday in the back high school parking lot from 2:15pm-5:15pm. Please park and walk up to the back steps. A limited supply of yearbooks will be available for $30 if you need to make a purchase. Checks made to SES or $30 cash will be accepted. Extras will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
If you ordered a cap and gown or tassel for kindergarten graduation, they are ready to be picked up at the elementary school. We will be in the office Tuesday and Thursday next week from 8-12. The office will be open 8-2 in June.
Join us at S.E.S. for a night of fun on Thursday, March 26, 4-6 p.m. The Creative Discovery Museum will be here with 9 stations focused on art with a science connection. Plus, we will have FREE Subway sandwiches & other treats for everyone to enjoy!
We want to know how our parents think we are doing at SES! Just go to vanburenschools.org and click on the MENU button at the top of the home page. In the maroon window that opens, you will find the survey link for PARENT SCHOOL CLIMATE SURVEY (K-5). Please complete by March 15!

SES Homecoming will be Monday, Nov. 11th beginning at 5 pm in the auxiliary gym. Students participating in Homecoming Court must arrive at 4:30 pm for yearbook pictures by School Days Photography. You will also have an opportunity to purchase these at a later date.
