We wish our students, staff, and families a Merry Christmas and blessed New Year! May you cherish your time with loved ones and may your new year be filled with joy!

REMINDER - LEARNING EXPECTATIONS FOR VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION: Families and students should understand that these virtual instruction days will be more rigorous than what was provided in the spring. Students are expected to continue completing assignments and learning activities and will be assigned grades as determined by the teacher. While we encourage students to complete work during normal school hours we understand this may not be possible due to changes in child care and family schedules. Teachers are providing online work, video recordings, and other assignments that can be completed at the pace that works best for your student and family. However, ALL assignments will be DUE back to your teachers by Wednesday, December 9th. Teachers will be making daily contact with students and families to offer help and support where needed. Teachers and staff will still be on campus between 8:00am-3:00pm during these days if you or your student needs assistance. You may contact Spencer Elementary at (931) 946-2171 or Van Buren County High School at (931) 946-2442. Reminder - Students WILL NOT come back to the building until Monday, December 7th, 2020.

There will be no in-person instruction during this time. Virtual learning days will be November 23-24 and November 30-December 4. We will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday, November 25-27, as scheduled. Breakfast and lunch will be delivered to students on Monday, November 23, for Monday-Wednesday, on Monday, November 30, for Monday-Wednesday, and on Thursday, December 3, for Thursday-Friday. Buses will leave school at 9:00 a.m. for meal delivery, and deliveries will be made along regular bus routes. Meals may also be picked up at the front of VBHS for those students who do not ride a bus. There will be absolutely no sports practices, activities, or games from November 22-December 6. We will return to traditional, in-person learning in our buildings on Monday, December 7. We apologize in advance for any inconveniences that this causes our students and families. This decision has not been made lightly as we understand the serious impact that it has. However, we feel that it is in the best interest of our students, staff, and community at this time. As we take this drastic step in stopping the spread of COVID-19, we ask that our students and families do everything that they can to prevent the spread, also. Thank you, Cheryl Cole, Director of Schools
