ABOUT US

Van Buren County High School is a public middle/high school serving grades 6-12. Nestled in the wooded mountains in the southern portion of the Tennessee region known as the Upper Cumberland, VBHS has a strong academic and athletic reputation throughout the area. While VBHS is small in student population, enrollment is around 400 students, students receive rigorous and challenging instruction through highly-trained teachers, small class sizes, and a family-like atmosphere.

MISSION STATEMENT

To prepare ALL students to be successful citizens and workers in today’s society and workplace. Accepting the rural nature of the community, this includes educating our students to read with comprehension, write clearly, compute accurately, think critically, reason logically, and use references effectively to solve problems for the betterment of their personal lives, family lives, physical and cultural environments.

VISION STATEMENT

The students, faculty, administration, parents, and community members pledge their time, talents and necessary means to achieve the expectation that all students of Van Buren County Middle/High School will achieve proficiency in all domains of the core academic subjects so that they may prove successful in the world of work and/or post secondary education.
